TPIN Full Form :
TPIN Full-Form, TPIN Means “Transaction Personal Identification Number”. This TPIN is only used for Demat trading accounts.
CDSL Full Form :
CDSL Full-Form – CDSL Means “Central Depository Services Limited” Is the authority that generates and manages the TPIN.
Uses Of TPIN :
TPIN is used to provide security to our shares/assets in Trade, ie online trading and Investing Demat accounts in the shares market.
Advantage Of TPIN :
- Earlier, a Power of Attorney (PoA) was required to conduct the transaction of Shares, but now it is not needed, the customer can use the share of TPIN.
- TPIN control is the best for the transaction of a Demat account. Every withdrawal transaction of Demat requires TPIN, without this broker customer account cannot be used.
- CDSL manages TPIN, in such a way, broker cannot use any customer PIN for wrong doing.
How to Generate TPIN By CDSL?
If you are trading in the share market and investing in the share market, then you should have a TPIN and to enable you to secure the shares lying in your Damat account, it was implemented by TPIN CDSL in June 2020, then every single Demat Account. Customers whose email and phone numbers were registered were sent a PIN. But if you do not get the PIN due to any reason, then you can generate TPIN yourself.
If you want to change CDSL TPIN then follow the steps below.
Step 1. Go to https://edis.cdslindia.com/home/generatepin website to generate a new TPIN.
Step 2. Enter your BO ID and then enter your PAN number and click on the Next button.
Step 3. As soon as you click on Next, OTP will go to your registered phone number and you enter it.
Step 4. As soon as you enter OTP and submit, 6 digit TPIN will be available on your phone via SMS.

How to Change TPIN By CDSL?
If for some reason your PIN logo is found out or there is a security problem due to which you want to change your TPIN again, then you can generate other PINs in this way.
- You go to the CDSL website.
- Click on Change – eDIS TPIN here.
- Then you enter here the BO ID which is your Demat number.
- Then you enter the PAN card number and click on the Next button.
- Then you will get an OTP which after entering your new PIN will be generated.
